JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor will manage all maintenance functions for the Memphis facility and potential remote locations. The ideal candidate will direct all activities related to supervising and personnel engaged in the repair, modification, and installation of new and existing equipment and facility maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for training employees, developing, and maintaining preventative maintenance programs according to ISO guidelines, mentoring, and supervising all technicians and contractors with the purpose of ensuring departmental and operational safety and regulatory compliance.
EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred: Graduate of vocational/technical training program in a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience. Minimum of 3 years of maintenance supervisor experience.
Preferred: Extensive knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

- Responsible for maintaining the facility and all equipment in the plant, adequately supplying parts room, maintaining critical spare parts inventory, and maintaining mobile equipment and maintenance subcontractor activities.

- Maintenance activities to include record keeping, preventive maintenance and daily review of inspection checklists and for scheduling repairs.
- Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating those activities concerned with the plant safety, design, construction, maintenance, and improvement of the products, equipment, and physical plant. Responsibility may include maintaining, troubleshooting, and overseeing repair of complex fill lines, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Maintains cost-effective preventative and predictive maintenance programs, which are designed to minimize production downtime, maximize productivity, and preserve a history of repairs and cost by individual equipment and/or electrical devices/machinery.
- Supervises the activities of the maintenance employees (if any). Promotes ongoing training, including hands-on participation with the maintenance crew to further develop required skills and to keep abreast of the latest technology.
- Retrofits and redesigns existing equipment to provide maximum productivity at reduced costs. Oversees maintenance of buildings and grounds, utilizing the maintenance department or outside contractors.
- Assists in preparation of annual capital expenditure budgets as well as capital expenditure requests (justification) for the individual projects and determines the cost effectiveness of those projects by calculating the pay back periods and return on investment.
- Maintains adequate levels of spare parts and materials by proper inventory management and storage.
- Complete special projects assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
- Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas.
- Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.
- Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
- Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
- Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers.
- Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly or installation, using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment.
- Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks.
- Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.
- Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Assemble and maintain physical structures, using hand or power tools.
- Clean or prepare construction or manufacturing sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
- Completes special projects upon request, and other duties may be assigned.
- Follow Safety guidelines (i.e. Lockout/Tagout) and check safety equipment (i.e. Eyewash Stations) procedures.
- Knowledge and awareness of specialty chemicals.
