BASIC FUNCTION:
The position of Chief Financial Officer has broad responsibility for the Bank’s fiscal operating results including counseling senior management on fiscal control and profitability. Develops and prescribes adequate financial procedures to provide the basis for management decisions and control. The CFO is the top financial officer for the companies and as profit planner, serves top management in an advisory capacity.
SUPERVISES: Controller, Investment Officer, Accounts Payable
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪ Oversees finance/accounting, investments, accounts payable and purchasing
▪ Maintains the company’s accounting system and directs the preparation of all fiscal reporting such as cost accounting, budgets, regulatory agency and government reports.
▪ Prepares, presents, and interprets financial reports to management, the board of directors, and government agencies.
▪ Identifies and implements financial systems and controls to manage complex accounting transactions. Establishes reporting standards and best practices utilizing common financial procedures. Ensures compliance with all financial reporting both for internal and external use and maintain accountability and integrity of the financial statements.
▪ Implements enterprise wide metrics to assist management in improving performance consistent with corporate objectives including operational efficiencies and streamlining to improve profitability.
▪ Provides financial leadership with high integrity and responsibility for driving results . Provides guidance on long range planning and strategy and assists in identifying and analyzing areas of future growth. Provides oversight and implements consistent process for budgeting and forecasting.
▪ Oversees the bank’s ad valorem taxes and annual appraisal assessments.
▪ Oversees the annual property and liability insurance renewals.
▪ Oversees the annual employee benefits renewal process.
▪ Maintains professional behavior and positive working relationships both internally and when representing the Bank in the community.
EXPERIENCE:
▪ Prior experience as a CFO or Controller in a community bank environment is required.
▪ Lending and/or loan approval experience is preferred.
