Key Responsibilities for this Role:
Application Deployment: Managing the deployment of applications through SCCM to end-user devices.
Patch Management: Performing updates and patching to ensure systems remain secure and up to date.
Software Distribution: Automating and managing software distribution across endpoints.
Operating System Deployment (OSD): Implementing Windows or other OS deployments via SCCM as it relates to Application support.
Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking deployment success, system compliance, and generating reports.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving SCCM-related issues, especially in deployment and patching.
Endpoint Management Systems Expertise:
System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM): Experience with SCCM for deploying applications, patch management, software distribution, and operating system deployment (OSD).
Microsoft Intune (or other MDM solutions): Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) for managing and securing endpoints such as laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.
Operational knowledge in one or more system VMware, Azure AVD, Nerdio
Operating Systems:
Windows: In-depth knowledge of managing, troubleshooting, and deploying Windows OS Win 10/Win11 in on-prem or virtualized environment.
Windows Server: Proficiency in working with Windows Server to manage endpoints and Active Directory (AD) policies.
Application Deployment:
Software Packaging and Deployment: Proficiency in packaging and deploying software and updates across an enterprise network using tools like SCCM, Intune, or other deployment platforms.
Scripting Languages: Experience in scripting languages like PowerShell, VBScript, or Python for automation of deployments and administrative tasks.
Patch Management:
Patch Deployment: Ability to manage patch deployment strategies, including deploying security updates and service packs.
Patch Compliance Reporting: Experience in generating and interpreting compliance reports using SCCM or Intune.
Security and Compliance:
Endpoint Security Tools: Familiarity with antivirus, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and security tools (e.g., BloxOne Endpoint, ESET, CrowdStrike, or similar).
Data Encryption and Security Policies: Understanding of data encryption techniques, secure configurations, and policies related to device management.
Group Policy (GPO): Ability to configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) for Windows environments to enforce security and management policies.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Incident Management: Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving endpoint-related issues.
Log Analysis: Ability to analyze logs from endpoints and management systems (SCCM, Intune) to identify and resolve problems.
Networking Knowledge:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN: Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, for troubleshooting and managing endpoints.
Remote Access and VPN Solutions: Knowledge of VPNs and remote access tools for supporting users outside the office environment.
Automation and Monitoring:
Automation: Experience with automating endpoint management processes, such as software deployment, system patching, and compliance checks.
Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in using monitoring tools like Nexthink, or others for tracking the health and performance of endpoints.
Cloud and Virtualization :
Azure Active Directory (Azure AD): Experience with cloud-based identity management using Azure AD.
Cloud-based Device Management: Knowledge of cloud-based management platforms like Windows Autopilot for provisioning and configuring devices.
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): Familiarity with VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps, and Azure Virtual Desktops.
Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
CompTIA Security+ or similar security certifications
ITIL Foundation (for IT service management)
