The Estimating Assistant position is a member of the estimating team, comprised of senior estimators and junior estimators. Estimating Assistants participate in department efforts to gather, communicate with vendors, subcontractors and clients for solicitation of bid proposals.
Responsibilities
- Manage Smart-bid construction bid management software
- Send invitations to bid, receive proposals, request more information and track the progress of bids.
- Send out bid proposals to clients.
- Build a centralized database of prequal data, categorize companies and update contact and rating information
- Assist the estimating team with compiling bid packages to go out to subcontractors/vendors
- Organize and maintain the estimating database
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the field of construction is a plus
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Strong work ethic
- Interpersonal, organization and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision as well as work on a team
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
