Our client, a luxury hospitality group is seeking a talented Staff Chefto join their brand-new location in New York City! This individual will provide family–style meals for the hotel and restaurant staff, serving three meals a day for up to 150 – 200 employees. In addition to providing meals for the staff, this person will be involved in menu design, inventory ordering, and leading a team of three cooks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients and cook a variety of dishes for the hotel and restaurant staff, serving three meals a day.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Ensure all staff meals are prepared in a timely manner.
- Address any issues that arise during food preparation, finding solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Assist in inventory control and ordering, including receiving deliveries, tracking stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Assist with menu design in partnership with the rest of the culinary team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Staff Chef, preferably coming out of an environment with a similar employee headcount.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Flexibility in schedule, with the ability to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent culinary skills, with attention to detail and creativity.
