PMT is a leading plastic manufacturer, specializing in injection molding and thermoforming and extrusion. We are currently seeking an experienced VP of Operations/ General Manager to lead our operations and drive continued growth and efficiency.
Position Overview:
The VP of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our parts manufacturing, ensuring the highest standards of production, quality, and safety. They will have full responsibility for three manufacturing facilities to include but not limited to injection molding, thermoforming, and product delivery. This role demands an innovative thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of plastic injection molding manufacturing, and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in plant management and a passion for operational excellence.
*This role can be based in either Centennial, CO or El Paso, TX with the understanding there will be travel between the two.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Provide strong leadership to all plant staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability. Manage, mentor, and develop department managers and supervisors to ensure efficient operations across the facilities. The VP of Operations/GM is critical in building a culture that delivers efficient and cost-effective business results, and customer service excellence. A leader that is skilled in conflict management, people assessment, organization, strategic planning, priority setting, and building effective teams. Adapt and respond to a changing and diverse platform of business requirements, from simple and specific tactical execution to emergent and broad scope strategic challenges which require immediate decisions and appropriate actions.
- Customer Focused: Meet customer demands and expectations. Address any customer issues related to production or delivery in a timely and professional manner. Accountable for the overall success, profitability, and customer satisfaction of all accounts and operations.
- Operations Oversight: Oversee all production activities, ensuring that products are manufactured on schedule, within quality standards, and at optimal cost. Implement and monitor score cards & key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and that goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters. Implement capacity management tools to manage direct labor and equipment resources.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute short-term and long-term operational strategies aligned with company goals. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and capacity expansion.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership and plant management within the plastic injection molding and manufacturing industry. (Experience with thermoforming a plus)
- P&L ownership at the General Management and/or VP of Operations level
- Experience creating high performing teams that are focused on collaboration and is driven in a metric and data-centric environment using Score Cards, KPI’s and measurable deliverables.
- Proven track record of leading a manufacturing facility with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and cost management.
- In-depth knowledge of plastic molding processes, equipment, and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced Leader in managing customer relationships and contracts;
- Experience in purchasing, materials management and supply chain in a world-class, high volume, high-mix manufacturing environment is desirable
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field, MBA or other relevant Master’s degree preferred
