JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Supply Chain Analyst to optimize our warehouse fulfillment operations, streamline product lines, and participate in logistics, procurement, and inventory management-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, procurement, and data analysis, with excellent communication skills to coordinate with various departments. This role involves regular review and adjustment of fulfillment strategies, assisting with mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and ensuring efficient supply chain operations.
EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma
Preferred: College degree in business related field such as Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Accounting
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Prior experience working in an analytical role supporting a manufacturing organization. Must have experience working in an ERP system.
Preferred: Knowledge of Sage X3 ERP, 3-5 years of experience in supply chain analysis, procurement, or a similar role.
POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification
Required: Knowledge of supply chain principles, including logistics, inventory management, and procurement. Experience in coordinating cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Preferred: Proficient in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, or other relevant tools. Working understanding of general business and accounting concepts.
CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions):
1. Warehouse Fulfillment Optimization:
- Determine the appropriate warehouse for customer fulfillment by understanding plant capacity, manufacturing capabilities, product mix, product margin, and transportation logistics.
- Communicate with multiple departments to implement necessary changes, such as adjusting raw material inventory at specific facilities.
- Conduct monthly reviews of new customers to identify and modify the appropriate ship site in ERP.
2. Procurement Review:
- Perform make vs. buy analysis to determine the most cost-effective production strategy.
- Evaluate third-party facility utilization and make recommendations for optimization.
- Analyze buyout vs. drop ship options to streamline procurement processes.
3. Product Line Consolidation:
- Collaborate with sales, lab, and planning teams to discontinue low-volume product lines.
- Assist in calculating sales and raw material forecasts to facilitate major product line transitions.
4. M&A Assistance:
- Support M&A activities by identifying fulfillment or procurement opportunities at the new facilities.
- Review stock minimums and batch sizes at acquired facilities and suggest discontinuations or reductions to mitigate slow-moving and obsolete stock.
- Post-acquisition, review and reassign the entire customer base to the most suitable ship sites.
- Coordinate with various departments to communicate and implement changes post-acquisition.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement within the supply chain and implement best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into the supply chain strategy.
