This Associate Attorney will support high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families with services relating to estate planning, trusts, probate and estate administration, wealth preservation, and related tax procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide robust estate planning service, designing and drafting revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
- Administer trusts, manage assets, and manage estate tax return filings.
- Collaborate with clients' other advisors, such as accountants and financial consultants, to ensure a coordinated approach to estate planning.
- Advise on transfer tax issues, including the preparation and review of gift tax returns.
- Participate in client meetings, draft client memos and correspondence.
- Familiarity with succession planning would be considered a plus.
- Stay updated on new laws and regulations, adapting practice elements to meet changes seamlessly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Active license to practice law in Minnesota.
- Minimum of three years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
- Prior experience with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clientele preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of estate, gift, income, and other applicable tax laws.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
