The Director, Strategic Planning position is responsible for applying customer understanding to creative problems to generate brand building ideas. This client facing strategic lead position is for pharmaceutical marketing and advertising targeting the practice manager, payer, and professional community. Strong Managed Markets experience and an understanding of the practice manager audience with an emphasis on how to gain coverage for individual patients, provider reimbursement and how payer policies are translated and incorporated into clinical practice is required for this position.

Job Responsibilities:
- Works with little supervision to fulfill job responsibilities including leadership in key strategic initiatives (customer insight generation, competitive assessment analysis, creative brief writing, channel strategy, value propositions and messaging)
- Leads strategy assignments and teams to develop and deliver comprehensive strategic platforms and initiatives
- Enhances overall agency teams understanding and applicability of coverage and reimbursement processes to the business
- Partners with other Agency departments to ensure strategic thinking is incorporated in all aspects of the agency’s work
- Leads strategy function on relevant books of business and is strategy lead to the client – delivering sound and value-based solutions
- Leads research pertaining to strategy and creative development
- Leads strategic component of new business pitches
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in insight generation, and development of channel strategies and value propositions related to the practice manager and/or payer/population-health decision maker audience
- Understand benefit designs in Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial/Private health insurance
- Experience with benefits investigations and prior authorizations to gain insurance coverage for biologics
- Understanding of provider reimbursement
- Experience leading workshops and facilitating brainstorming sessions
- Strong understanding of managed markets and applicability to pharmaceutical brands
- Strong understanding of strategic frameworks
- Experience communicating information written and verbally
- Strong presentation skills
- Managed markets experience from agency or client-side

Salary
$130,000 - $180,000 annually for Director-level. $160,000 - $230,000 annually for VP.
The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
