Business Analyst
Client: Government/Public Sector
Downtown Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid work model, 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration: 6 month contract w/ possibility for extension
Business Analyst
Responsibility:
The Business systems consultant works closely with higher-level staff and/or management to outline general objectives and boundaries that they will follow to meet the requirements. Unusual problems or deviations from guidelines or practice are discussed with the manager. This individual works with agency management, information technology management, division management, systems users and agency personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Portal / dashboard experience(PowerBI)
- IT Projects (ability to understand IT language and translate it to business groups)
- Senior level stakeholder communication (present/respond to chief executives)
- Technical writing
A day in the life:
- Assists in the development of technical standards and policies.
- Recommends and facilitates quality standards and policies.
- May train, guide, and advise lower-level business analysts.
- Formulates and defines system scopes and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of user needs and business systems/industry best practices.
- Creates process change through the integration of new processes with existing ones and communication of changes to impacted Business Systems teams.
- Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with assigned customers in order to help them meet their business and technical needs.
- Analyzes business and user needs, document requirements and devises new technical business system solutions or revises system logic difficulties as necessary.
- Facilitates the delivery of technical business solutions and products.
What you will need to be successful:
- At least 3+ years of experience applying the knowledge, skills, and abilities outline below.
- Advanced knowledge of the organization’s business systems and commercial business applications.
- Advanced knowledge of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current/future business environment.
- Advanced knowledge of fundamental concepts, system design, relationships between various elements of the overall solution.
- Ability to comprehend and translate business systems or application requirements in a meaningful and functional manner.
- Ability to apply system development methodologies to oversee systems modifications and initiatives.
- Familiarity with using and interpreting data structures and relationships.
- Ability to understand how change management methodology aligns with and enhances project management and implementation.
