Description:
Works with initiators to rewrite, clarify or reconstruct training documents throughout the review cycle. Writes and edits technical or sales training related publications including training guides, quick reference material, operator notebooks, and training checklist along with other related documents. Integrates various sources of information into a uniform style and language for regulatory compliance and brand standards. Assists in developing documentation for instructional, descriptive, reference and/or informational purposes. Responsible for coordination of the review, approval and revision process in a Document Management System and ensuring necessary reviewers sign-off on material. Facilitates the periodic review of all material to ensure accuracy and compliance determining if content should remain as is, need modifications or be retired. Maintains content library and ensures materials are available for printing or can be accessed digitally through appropriate channels. Works independently within guidelines and policies, and receives minimal guidance. Collaborates effectively with Training and Development Project Managers, Trainer/Designers, leadership and subject matter experts to create, revise, and maintain technical training content using instructional Design software to be a resource for colleagues with less experience and provides functional guidance.
Responsibilities:
• Creates technical and sales instructor-led training content job aids, technical guides, and other training materials.
• Interface with content originators, stakeholders, and approvers to ensure cross-functional team alignment on training documentation.
• Monitor systems to ensure documents and workflows are approved in a timely manner.
• Effectively communicate and train to process improvement opportunities and technical content management system updates in Training and Development approval areas.
• Revises technical and sales training materials and content to include adherence to brand standards and necessary modifications found in periodic review cycles.
• Duties are varied based on the content needed and may involve technical research and will involve document design/layout expertise.
• Requires regular communication and stakeholder management along with project management partnerships
• Participates in special training development projects tied to product launches by working with technical global materials and considering US modifications/needs
• Liaise between subject matter experts, project managers and the print shop to ensure material print specifications, proofs and end products are available for weekly customer/sales/service training classes. Conduct regular audit of print material supply list.
Knowledge/Skills:
• BS/BA in a technical/scientific field, technical writing, English or other relevant course of study
• Demonstrated experience with creating and modifying content in Adobe Creative Cloud (ie InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop), Canva, PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Demonstrated experience interfacing with multiple parties and managing differences in feedback on material to achieve final product
• Familiarity with adherence to brand standards, creating instructor-led training modules, job aids, online tutorials, and other training materials
• Understanding of quality system regulations and ISO standards.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Meeting facilitation skills for document consultations and project debriefs
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and timelines at one time
Preferred:
• Knowledge of adult learning theory, training practices, principles and methods
• Understanding of quality system regulations and ISO standards.
• Previous experience with Veeva Vault or other Content Management System
• Previous copy editing and document design/layout experience
