Charter One is currently accepting applications for a Financial Analyst for our district office in Raleigh, NC. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Requesting and reconciling state, local, and federal funds due to each of our schools.
- Oversees the procedures in place to ensure proper billing and fund requests to all entities that fund our schools, making recommendations to the Director of Finance to streamline and improve procedures.
- Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation and closing processes. Ensures internal and external reporting processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establishes strong working relationships with state and local education agency finance officers.
- Monitors and reports on progress against budget objectives. Makes recommendations about corrective actions and updates to budget plans.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting revenue data.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Complies with regulatory (federal, state, local) reporting requirements.
- Assists in the creation, monitoring, and reporting of specific grant budgets.
- Provides input on the annual budgets of client schools and analyzes trends in forecasting.
- Stays abreast of existing and new legislation; anticipates future legislation; enforces adherence to requirements; files financial reports; and advises management on needed actions.
- Some travel may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- B.S. in Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years in accounting or a related field
- Strong accounting and Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Skills
- School Finance (USFR) and/or school student information systems experience
- Knowledge of NC/SC Public Schools state finance system
