Our client, an A-rated P&C Insurance Company, is seeking to add a Commercial Lines Underwriting Lead to their Ohio operations. This role will be instrumental in driving the success of our client's Commercial Underwriting operations by managing a renewal book, producing new business, and supporting a small team of Underwriters. This person will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of commercial accounts, focusing on profitable growth and maintaining a renewal book and generating new business. The ideal candidate will evaluate both admitted and non-admitted submissions, making informed underwriting decisions within delegated authority levels. This is a Hybrid position out of their Worthington, OH office.
- Evaluate new and renewal business submissions, making sound underwriting decisions within authority limits for both admitted and non-admitted business.
- Provide guidance and support to a small team of Underwriters, ensuring workflow efficiency and professional development.
- Collaborate with internal teams and brokers to negotiate and secure favorable terms, focusing on sustainable, profitable growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster business development and retention.
- Analyze risks and manage accounts with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and potential challenges.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments within the commercial P&C space.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial P&C Underwriting, with a solid track record of managing a book of business.
- Prior leadership experience in managing and developing a team of underwriters is preferred
- Demonstrated experience underwriting both admitted and non-admitted products.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive profitable growth in a competitive market.
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
Salary/Benefits:
- $100,000 to $125,000 Annual Based Salary (Depending on Experience)
