What is the Opportunity?
Job Title: Field Safety Representative
Reporting to the Safety Director the Field Safety Representative will be responsible to actively promote a health and safety culture to all field employees through training and implementation of Xtreme’s Health and Safety policies and procedures. The Field Safety Representative will be accountable to leadership levels General Foremen and above and will conduct in field crew and worker inspections. Daily travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct safety orientation to workers
Champion all aspects of Xtreme’s Safety Management Program
Assist in hands-on instruction to individuals or groups where appropriate in ET&D fundamentals, Safe Electrical Work Practices, Equipment Certifications, Pole Top / Bucket Rescue, and other pertinent elements, to include Employee Orientations and Refreshers
Conduct in field inspections and audits and act upon findings and feedback
Conduct behavioral observation in the field and act upon findings and feedback
Support implementation of Xtreme’s corrective actions, continuous improvements and good catch programs
Develop workplace plans – such as emergency evacuations, fire emergency, traffic controls, fall protection etc.
Assist in Incident Response and Investigation
Deliver Presentations and Safety Stand Downs. Lead working groups and committees
Assure documentation and records requirements are being met
Maintain continual, effective and timely communication amongst those on the Xtreme Team
Adhere to Xtreme’s policies of accountability, privacy and confidentiality

Required Knowledge and Experience
A minimum of 3 years working experience in an EHS / Safety Advisor role is an asset
Experience in construction health and safety
Familiar with construction terminology
Electrical Work Knowledge is an asset
Working knowledge of OSHA requirements
Good communication skills
Ability to work with limited supervision and to be proactive
Ability to work in a team environment
Background in Training and / or Education and or experience delivering Safety Training programs to individuals and groups is an asset
Valid Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
Daily travel is required
Able to work in a variety of job site conditions
Ability to communicate Effectively
Ability to collaborate – work cooperatively with others across the organization
