We are seeking a board-certified Ophthalmologist Chief Medical Officer to administratively oversee 7 to 16 Ophthalmology and Optometry clinical Ambulatory Surgical Centers locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Delaware. Our Chief Medical Officer will also supervise and lead ~ 50 Providers, including MDs, DOs, ODs and more.
The Chief Medical Officer may reside and work from any of our clinics in Rhode Island, but may be required to travel to, Elkton, Maryland and Newark, Delaware, locations on a quarterly basis. Travel between Massachusetts and Rhode Island is expected monthly.
As our Chief Medical Officer, you will collaborate with the Managed Services Organization’s Executive Leadership Team, as well as the Practice Directors and Clinical Managers.
This is a full-time salaried position with administrative working hours expected to be 40 – 50 hours per week.
The ideal candidate must be progressive, have demonstrated leadership, knowledge of employment law, finance, and experience with Ambulatory Surgical Centers.
Responsibilities:
- Parter with Executive Leadership Team to ensure compliance
- Supervise ~25-50 Providers
- Participate in Provider meetings and all-staff meetings
- Work Cooperatively with C-Suite
- Reports to CEO
Requirements:
- Board Certified Ophthalmologist ideal
- Must be able to obtain licenses to practice in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Delaware within 120 days of hire.
- Monthly travel between Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- Quarterly travel to Maryland and Delaware
- Finance experience preferred
- MBA preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of corporate practice of medicine law, STARK, Anti-Kickback and employment law.
- Must possess the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for comprehension, problem-solving, and timely decision-making and wield exceptional inter-personal communication skills with diverse populations.

Salary - This position pays $250,000 annually for Chief Medical Officer administrative duties. Additional compensation may be offered if the Chief Medical Officer practices medicine.
