Job Title: Project and Construction Manager

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years in Construction and/or Project Management for Commercial or Public/Educational Facilities. At least 3 of these years must involve coordinating complex projects over $10M.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management from a recognized institution
- OR: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) and completion of the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year of employment
- OR: A valid CCM credential as a substitute for the required education
- Skills: High energy, strong communication (verbal and written), flexibility, attention to detail, and familiarity with contracting methods (Low Bid, JOC, Best Value, Design-Build)
- On-Site Requirements: Must be on-site 75-80% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Design-Build, BIM, LEED, and CHPS experience preferred
- Certifications: OSHA 30 minimum, California Architect or Professional Engineer license, CCM credential
- Specialized Knowledge: Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes, safety regulations, phasing plans, CO estimates, and notice issuance
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all project phases, from pre-construction through close-out
- Manage project budget and schedule to meet District standards, tracking progress and reporting to upper management
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and various agencies to ensure project compliance and effective communication
- Review and approve change order proposals, substitution submittals, and contractor payments
- Administer Professional Service Agreements and coordinate District delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment
- Ensure project compliance with DSA requirements and complete final project financial close-out
