Field Technician- Food Processing Accounts

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Technician based in the Southeast US region. In this customer facing role, the ideal candidate will be considered a technical product and applications expert and act as a link to our global technical and operations teams. Working with new and existing customers, the candidate will build key relationships through troubleshooting, product development, quality, process improvement and other value-added activities.
Key functions of this role will include:
- Supports the North American commercial team in troubleshooting, testing and validating collagen products for new and existing customers.
- Enable our collagen products to move effectively through the customers’ end-to-end manufacturing processes: recipe formulation, filling and stuffing, cooking and smoking, packing and storing.
- Build strong relationships with the customer’s R&D leads, operators, managers, and maintenance supervisors to provide a best-in-class customer experience.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities at existing customers and distributors.
- Contribute technical expertise to prospecting with sales colleagues in order to acquire new business.
- Proactively provide technical details on customers’ processing capabilities to R&D colleagues and contribute ideas on how to improve our products.
- Act as the technical advocate for the customer within the organization, operating in line with strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain up-to-date technical skills and industry networks, representing our company among industry peers.
- Create exposure to and collect best in class practices.
Requirements
- High school Diploma.
- College Degree or Technical Training Preferred
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Working in meat processing plants, commonly cold, damp environments.
- Frequent bending/ twisting as a result of testing/validating activities at customers.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
