About the Role
Our client, a leader in industrial automation, is looking to hire a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is central to designing, developing, and testing high-power electronics systems, and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology within a highly collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of power electronics systems, including converters, inverters, and battery management systems.
- Testing and Validation: Develop testing procedures and perform validation testing on prototypes and final designs to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards.
- Circuit Design: Design, simulate, and analyze power circuits, including DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, and high-frequency power systems.
- Component Selection: Choose appropriate components and manage component specifications for performance optimization, thermal management, and cost-efficiency.
- System Modeling: Utilize modeling software to predict and simulate system performance and make design adjustments accordingly.
- Documentation and Compliance: Prepare technical documentation and ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve design and operational issues, continuously improving product reliability.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on power electronics principles and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in power electronics engineering, with experience in high-power applications.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies and control techniques.
- Proficiency in simulation and design tools (e.g., MATLAB, PSpice, LTspice).
- Experience with high-power semiconductor devices (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SiC, GaN).
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards and mitigation techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Automation, renewable energy, electric vehicles, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with thermal management and packaging of power electronics.
- Knowledge of battery management systems and high-power energy storage.
