This role involves performing a range of advanced secretarial tasks, including preparing legal documents and correspondence, maintaining close communication with attorneys, paralegals, and clients, and upholding confidentiality in all matters.
A litigation secretary will manage complex document filings, support trial preparations, and must possess a solid understanding of court protocols and procedures, including tracking court dates, handling pleadings, and ensuring filing compliance.
Key Responsibilities as aLegal Secretary (Litigation)
- Draft client correspondence and prepare initial pleadings with minimal oversight.
- Perform diverse clerical tasks requiring familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.
- Maintain attorney schedules, coordinate travel, and process incoming communications.
- Exercise discretion and sound judgment in client interactions.
- Enter attorney time records, prepare expense reports, and organize meetings.
- Recommend procedural improvements as necessary.
- Provide team support, administrative assistance, and handle overflow tasks as needed.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e-filing systems, and court protocols.

- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and willingness to assist team members.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of court protocols and filing requirements.
- Minimum of seven years of litigation experience in a law firm.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
