The Chemical Engineer will be responsible for working with personnel at each IOS site as well as the other engineers in the department. The position will report to the Engineering Director.
Duties
- Review all raw materials and finished products on site for compatibility with the materials of construction of equipment used on site for handling, blending and packaging
- Review all new blend formulations or reformulations to ensure that any thermal increase does not exceed 9.9°C net or in a single charge.
- Develop processes to mitigate risk when applicable Support to Site Process Engineering & Projects Manager and Site Process Engineers for continuous improvement in process engineering issues.
- Responsible for supporting and delivering process improvement opportunities through plant modifications esp. (but not exclusively) those relating to Process SHE initiatives
- Participate in contractor qualification documents including issuing the required forms to each contractor, tracking submittal and ensuring annual updates of required documents for long term contractors.
- Responsible for upkeep of key process safety systems including change management, written instructions and critical checklists
- Support for line management trouble shooting when they need help. Source of advice to all levels of personnel at IOS manufacturing sites on process SHE issues.
- Support development and sustainability of ISO 9001 system
Background
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
- 5 years of experience
- 5 years of Project management
- 10 hr. OSHA certification
- Proficient in CAD rendering, P&ID for process flow, and process safety Management.
