Are you a P.E teacher or outdoor educator ready to lead a dynamic team in a high-energy, outdoor setting? As the Adventure Program Coordinator at Camp Sewataro, you’ll oversee our Adventure Challenge Program, which includes high and low ropes courses, climbing tower, and team-building activities. This role is perfect for an educator who thrives in hands-on environments, loves working outdoors, and is passionate about experiential learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, supervise, and support a team of Adventure Challenge Facilitators, creating a positive environment and ensuring high-quality programming.
- Course Management: Oversee the setup, safety, and operation of both high and low ropes courses, ensuring that all activities align with safety protocols and camp standards.
- Facilitator Training: Conduct pre-camp training and ongoing skill development to ensure facilitators are fully equipped for their roles.
- Camper Engagement: Create a fun, inclusive experience that builds confidence and promotes teamwork, all while fostering an adventurous spirit.
- Safety & Equipment Oversight: Regularly inspect and maintain all equipment and course elements, ensuring adherence to ACA and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience with adventure programs, challenge courses, or physical education. Ropes course and belay certification are preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational abilities, and a passion for working with children and young adults in an outdoor environment.
- Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and Belay certification preferred.
