Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated, growth-oriented Tax Preparer with an eagerness to build a long-term career with us. This role offers the opportunity to handle a high volume of individual and business tax returns, including 1040s, 1099s, and S-Corp filings, along with some partnerships and a limited number of 990s and trust returns. Ideal candidates are proactive, capable of managing client interactions as the office’s client-facing representative, and prepared to work extended hours during tax season. No CPA designation is required, but a strong interest in tax preparation and future growth is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of tax returns for individuals and small businesses, predominantly 1040s and S-Corp filings, with some partnership and trust returns.
- Engage directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and ensure an exceptional client experience.
- Maintain accurate records and input data into UltraTax and Accounting CS, as well as manage client bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks during the off-season.
- Participate in extended tax planning and preparatory tasks to ensure a smooth tax season.
Requirements:
- Ability to handle a high volume of tax returns with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong client communication skills, with a professional and personable demeanor.
- Ability to commit to extended hours during tax season (up to 60–65 hours per week during peak periods).
- Familiarity with UltraTax, Accounting CS, and QuickBooks (desktop and online) is a plus, but not required.
Work Environment:
- Onsite position, requiring dedication to work schedules and flexibility with start/stop times, as long as required hours are met.
