Summary
The Litigation Paralegal/Case Manager will be groomed to oversee and manage a portfolio of approximately 200 active cases, consisting of civil litigations, bankruptcy actions and estate proceedings, for a global financial services firm client.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire lifecycle of cases, under the direction of a Partner.
- Supervise 25+ local counsel firms across the country, and a part-time law clerk.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions and settlement agreements.
- Negotiate settlements and make settlement recommendations to client.
- Assist in the development of case strategies.
- Serve as primary communicator with client.
- Monthly reporting to client on status of matters.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Legal background with a detailed understanding of the litigation process; Paralegal certificate or law degree preferred; Previous case manager experience a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on many cases simultaneously.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Effective communication and ability to interact professionally with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, dependable, and exceptional work ethic.
- Proficient in Word and Excel, and conducting background/asset searches.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions.
The projected salary would be $75,000.00-$115,000.00, plus overtime, bonus and comprehensive benefits.
