MORGNER is seeking qualified candidates for the “EMS Senior Technician" position in Maintenance & Operations with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist with HVAC Controls Design and Submittal reviews
- Assist in reviewing utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro commissioning.
- Assist in reviewing EMS and energy data, and alarms to identify no cost/low-cost energy conservation measures.
- Assist in the review of EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures.
- Perform site visits to investigate as built conditions on identified projects.
- Implement low-cost to no-cost solutions or alternatives to projects/repairs of EMS systems at existing school sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls.
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Assist in managing In-House Commissioning Projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Required Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ professional experience in building controls or a related field
- Understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Ability to wire, start up, and troubleshoot basic HVAC maintenance issues
- Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.
Required Education:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology).
OR
- Two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics-related studies with additional 2 years of experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers including Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane.
- Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases.
- Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites.
- Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS.
