Summary: The Graphic Designer helps to facilitate design projects and assists with in-house design for both print and web. The Graphic Designer works with a team of designers and reports to the Creative Director. Exposure to new and emerging technologies and the flexibility to contribute new ideas and implement new technologies is our standard.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously in various design phases – concept, design, production edits, and final
- Must have solid typography skills and strong layout skills
- Must have basic knowledge of the print process and color separation
- Ability to work well under pressure in an environment of rapidly changing deadlines and priorities
- Successfully interprets project scope and requirements for deliverables, evaluates multiple inputs and points of view, and works within agreed-on timelines and deadlines
- Ability to follow and execute company brand guidelines for style and communication, as well as assist in creating or modifying where appropriate
- Prepares final layouts and production art files for vendors and/or team members for both print and online projects including meeting and/or discussing instructions to ensure the final deliverable meets expectations
Position Requirements:
- Communication with team members and meeting deadlines is a critical and required skill
- Highly efficient with Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience with Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Responsive Design – mobile, desktop, tablet
- Strong grasp of design fundamentals – color, composition, typography
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
- A dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills and commitment
- Attention to detail, above-average organizational and time management skills
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in graphic design
- Must have packaging design experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design/Print focused
- The portfolio must demonstrate strong design skills in both print and digital marketing initiatives
Experience with the below is a plus:
- Good knowledge of photography and the print process
- Good knowledge of photo retouching and editing
- Experience working with external, 3rd party brand guidelines
Disclaimer: The salary for this role is $55,000.00 - $70,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
