Job Summary:
As our Central Intake Coordinator, you will make a difference by performing intake functions including clinical and financial review of all referrals as designated by hospital assignment, which includes submitting insurance benefit verifications and prior authorizations. Additionally, in this role you will approve or escalate referrals based on clinical or financial capabilities of each campus. You will collaborate with multiple referral sources including hospital systems, case managers and individual facility leadership team at a minimum.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Monitor hospital portals for new referrals, confirms receipt of referral in portal.
• Coordinate the initial intake and clinical assessment of each referral received, and work referrals to green, yellow, or red-light status.
• Communicate received referrals with corresponding hospital liaison for further follow up.
• Send all received referrals for benefit verification.
• Document all received referrals in the Customer Relationship Management software.
• Utilize portals for documentation of status of each referral (accepted, denied, considering).
• Escalate clinical yellow light referrals to campus clinical support for clinical determination.
• For referrals not Medicare A primary, work up med cost out and send to Divisional Vice President for approval as required.
• Evaluates referral to be assigned to the appropriate campuses based on payer source and bed availability.
• Supports sales throughout initial referral process.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Education: Associate Degree
• Experience: 3-5 years
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
