Overview: We from Russell Tobin, on behalf of our client in the banking and financial industry, are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst. This role is perfect for recent graduates looking to start their career in finance and gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, operations, reporting, and strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports to support management decisions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze data from various sources to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor and report on financial performance by comparing actual results with budgeted figures, identifying variances, and providing explanations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Research: Conduct research on market trends, industry developments, and competitor performance to support strategic planning.
- Compliance: Ensure financial practices comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with different departments to gather information and provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous industry internship or work experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Familiarity with financial software and databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar) is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
