Essential Functions
Performs primary function of a nurse leader in planning, directing, ensuring, and evaluating quality of patient care delivered. Facilitates staff development programs to ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Responsible for the management of all human resources assigned to the departments. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, continuing education and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Communicates expectations set forth by directors to serve as a link between administration and staff nurses in the absence of the director. Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental services.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Associate's Degree Nursing (ADN): valid with presence of the RN License
Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN): Preferred
Required Skills Licenses: Registered Nurse, KY
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 30 days of hire Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
