As the Automotive Field Service Technician, you will support the internal and external customer experience at their service location. This will primarily support Amazon EDV business operations (fleet maintenance for amazon’s electric delivery vehicles)
You will be working with their internal partners every day to assist with service needs and coordinate with our Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineer teams.
Duties:
- Ability to assist in daily Amazon EDV business operations often requested on ad hoc basis, including shuttling vehicles back and forth from delivery stations
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles, using a documented process, checklist, and guidelines
- Document results (pass/fail)of pre-delivery inspections and communicate results to team members/supervisor
- Follow Rivian repair procedures with efficiency without compromising quality and safety
- Perform or assist with assigned diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles
- Assist and support vehicle repairs in a setting outside of a service center
- Conduct road tests on vehicles to ensure quality of the repair
- Perform necessary parts operations such as parts ordering, receiving, shipping and inventory
- Maintain and process accurate expense reporting as needed
- provide service support to the field to support the Service organization
Requirements:
- Level 1 Technician: Less than 2 years of experience in a directly related trade (tire shop for example, motorcycle repair shop, but not cashier); no automotive specific training required
- Level 2 Technician: 2-4 years of experience in an automotive specific environment with exposure to various repairs (usually an independent shop, or dealership -not only oil changes, or tires); automotive training preferred
- Level 3 Technician: 5+ years of automotive experience, EV experience preferred
- HS Diploma or GED preferred
- Graduated from an accredited automotive repair school preferred
- One year experience working in an automotive repair shop preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record
- Experience using a work order management system including repair documentation
- Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.)
- Minimum age of 21
- No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5year period)
