Position & Company Synopsis
15+ year old equity sponsored company with an ability to service home, commercial, and industrial customers by installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC, plumbing, and electrical products. We offer a variety of services including 3-5 year maintenance contracts providing a healthy balance of free standing cash flow to fund future acquisitions.
Job Summary: As the VP of Finance & Accounting, you will hold a strategic position in our organization, directly reporting to the CFO. This role is integral to our continued growth and success, with the potential for evolving into a Divisional President or future CFO. You will take charge of structuring and leading the finance and accounting department, refine the blueprint for future acquisition integrations, lead a financial transformation to Oracle EPM (FCCS, PBCS, & PCMCS), and usher in the era of a globally disbursed workforce.
Responsibilities:
- As VP of Finance you will report to the CFO and have enhanced visibility with CEO as this is a pivotal hire and next tier of trajectory and growth will be determined by ability to lead operations and financial transformation.
- Supervise Director of Financial Systems while they enhance automation of FP&A reporting, automate repetitive tasks and increase use of visualization dashboards utilizing Domo.
- Maintains and enhances relationships with key decision maker operations base throughout company across the region, state, and country as geographic footprint from a national basis will be under the CEO’s and CFO’s direction
- Along with tenured team members including Vice President, Controller you will ensure reporting is in compliance with company and any government reporting requirements.
- Team up with Corporate Development team on due diligence and integration work on acquisitions, strategic dispositions, and tactical tuck-in purchases.
- Liaison with SVP, Project Management, Head of Marketing, Chief Operations Officer, and Global Controllership group on added a new layer of sophistication to reporting packages and management reporting.
- Partner with our senior leadership team to develop the long-term operating model and drive the strategic steps to get there.
- As Vice President of Finance you will be involved with upleveling our 3-year strategic plan, annual operating plan per division, and provides regular updates to those plans.
- Creates, maintains, and reports on the margin expectations for engineering projects and identifies opportunities for improvement to margins by identifying cost overages and micro market analysis to elongate pricing delta.
- Ensures accuracy of financial reports when it comes to budget, G&A flux analysis, bottom line, job costing, and WIP.
- Lead to design, implement, and maintain FP&A processes that provide financial and operational transparency to board of directors, investors, and equity firm.
- Monitors and maintains land development budgets, job costing model, and timely communicates with Sr. Director of Construction & Development.
- Enable data-driven decision-making across organization, take the lead on business planning, support revenue growth ideas, discuss the client experience with marketing, and be thinking about the business performance as you jump into a virtual meeting or find yourself drinking a coffee or kombucha with the divisional president in the office on occasion.
- Quarterly earnings may detail progress on land acquisitions, associated environmental reports, title costs, soil redevelopment, flood plain entrenchment and sub-market analysis.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated capability in financial management, team leadership, and process improvement.
- Strong grasp of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and treasury management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits:
- A competitive salary range of $200k - $240k.
- Performance-based bonus up to 35% and earmarked for 28.5%
