The Detroit office of a large national firm is seeking a trademark attorney with at least three years of experience to join its IP group. This position sits in this firm’s Detroit office, but it is national in scope. The hired attorney will represent the firm’s clients by managing their complex trademark portfolios and provide them with comprehensive advice on the development and protection of their intellectual property rights and brands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and advising on trademark selection, clearance, protection, and enforcement.
- Conduct thorough trademark searches and analysis to support clients in making informed branding decisions.
- Assist clients navigate the registration process, including responding to office actions and overcoming challenges.
- Participate in intellectual property disputes, including trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as UDRP proceedings.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective branding strategies.
- Stay updated on trademark law developments and trends to provide clients with informed guidance.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Admission to the Michigan Bar
- At least three years of relevant experience at a law firm
