Field Service Engineer - SEMI
Our client is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join their team in supporting customers within the Semiconductor Metrology Industry. This role requires hands-on experience with advanced analytical tools and involves extensive travel to various customer locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, troubleshooting, and customer support, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
This role is onsite in Boise, Idaho. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair various semiconductor metrology equipment, including Analytical X-ray Equipment, XXR Measurement Tools, Thin Film Measurement Tools, Wafer Analyzers, X-ray HV Power Supplies, X-ray Detection Devices, Automation Devices, CCD Cameras, Cryogenic Equipment, and related devices.
- Provide onsite and remote troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical issues for the above-mentioned equipment.
- Perform system software installations and modifications to meet customer application needs.
- Assist customers by phone with preliminary troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Conduct training for customers on the alignment and use of analytical systems.
- Execute installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of X-ray Generators, Optics, Detection Devices, and Cryogenic Systems.
- Submit detailed service reports through the company’s service database for all service activities performed.
- Maintain accurate and updated customer profiles, reflecting any changes to customer equipment.
- Submit weekly service and expense reports to the service manager.
- Work effectively within a cleanroom environment.
- Occasionally travel internationally to client factories in Japan and U.S. Technical Centers for specialized training and service updates.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent training (minimum requirement).
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Ability to obtain security clearance for customer and governmental facilities.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in field service roles.
- Experience with Thin Film and Metrology equipment.
Salary: $75k-$105k/year. (DOE)
