About the Role
As the Director of Quality and Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating the quality standards across the company’s automotive manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will establish and oversee a robust ISO/TS 16949-compliant quality management system while driving continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Job Duties
- Quality Management: Develop, implement, and sustain a comprehensive quality management system that complies with ISO/TS 16949 and other relevant automotive standards. Ensure quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, testing, and post-production.
- Compliance and Standards: Oversee and maintain compliance with automotive industry regulations and standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. Ensure products and processes meet all quality and safety requirements.
- Supplier Quality Management: Manage supplier quality by establishing material and component standards, conducting supplier audits, and ensuring supplier performance aligns with company expectations.
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Utilize data analysis to identify trends and implement optimization strategies.
- Risk Management: Implement risk management protocols to mitigate potential quality issues. Develop and execute contingency plans for addressing quality-related challenges.
- Leadership and Training: Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization. Provide training and support to teams on quality processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in quality management within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive standards such as ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001.
- Experience with supplier quality management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience leading ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 certification processes.
- Professional certifications such as:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Lean / Six Sigma
