Lynx Cat Mountain Quarry is a fully SMARA-permitted and MSHA-compliant quarry operation.
Job Description:
Lynx Cat Mountain Quarry is seeking experienced Plant Laborers with a strong background in rock plant operations. Plant Laborers will support the safe and efficient crushing operations of the Lynx Cat Mountain Quarry plant. This role involves performing a variety of tasks to maintain productivity, including equipment maintenance and general labor duties such as shoveling, sweeping, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
There is also an opportunity for Plant Laborers to learn how to operate additional equipment, such as loaders, excavators, dozers, and blades. The ideal candidate has experience in rock plant crushing operations, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Comply with MSHA safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
· Assist with the setup, operation, and cleanup of crushing plant equipment.
· Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality and output; identify and report any deviations from quality standards.
· Inspect equipment and conduct basic maintenance on machinery.
· Monitor various materials for quality, adjusting processes or notifying supervisors of any concerns.
· Manage stockpiles and monitor material levels.
· Maintain effective communication with other team members to ensure seamless operation.
· Support various tasks around the plant site, including shoveling, cleaning, and equipment checks.
· Routinely climb ladders and lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Assist with general plant operations and perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- One year of rock quarry experience preferred.
- Proven experience as a plant laborer in a rock quarry.
- Familiarity with aggregate production processes and material handling.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance.
- Commitment to safety.
- MSHA certification is preferred but not required.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Operation of skid steers and water trucks a plus.
