SPR Packaging is a manufacturer of flexible packaging located in Rockwall, Texas. We supply printed plastic bags to major manufacturers in the US, in markets such as: Bakery, Ice, Consuming products, Tortilla and Lawn & Garden.
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with flexibility to work longer hours and some weekends.
Position Description:
The Quality Department Lead will be responsible for supervising tests and quality checks to ensure the quality of materials and finished products, as well as identifying areas of improvement to increase efficiency. In addition, monitoring of quality control and product control performance, regarding all areas and sections. Implementation and improvement of IT tools. Technical assistance and resolution of customer complaints and product approvals. Analysis of quality indicators, monitoring, and proposal of corrective and preventive actions.
Duties:
- Lead quality control technicians in a laboratory setting and production floor by providing guidance and support.
- Supervise quality checks and test examinations of all materials and finished products.
- Establish and monitor production quality standards.
- Develop production tracking and quality control procedures.
- Technical assistance to customers
- Propose improvements to the quality control and production processes.
- Communicate issues to quality and production management.
- Propose and supervise preventive and corrective actions.
- Compliance with AIB, GMP, HAACP, FDA, TCEQ, FSSC and other regulatory authorities
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Four-year BS Chemical Engineering/Industrial Engineering
- Experience in a leadership or supervisor role
- Experience managing a small group of individuals.
- Positive and energetic individual that can work well with all levels of an organization; must be able to get along well with others and willing to work long hours when needed.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ambition to pursue a high level of knowledge and growth.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
