We are seeking an experienced Grant Manager to support the identification, writing, management, and administration of grants for infrastructure projects and capital improvement programs, in the TX region. This position is critical for securing and overseeing funding opportunities for the airport’s growth and development, ensuring that all grant-related activities align with project goals, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in finding, writing, and managing grants, preferably for infrastructure or capital improvement projects in the aviation or transportation sector. Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills are essential for success in this role, as the Grant Manager will be working closely with internal stakeholders, government agencies, funding organizations, and project managers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO!
Grant Identification & Research:
- Research and identify funding opportunities from federal, state, local, and private sources that align with the airport’s infrastructure and capital improvement needs.
- Stay up to date on relevant grant programs, funding initiatives, and regulatory changes that impact airport infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of available grants and funding opportunities for various airport development projects.
Grant Proposal Writing & Application:
- Write compelling, high-quality grant proposals for infrastructure, capital improvement, and related airport projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather the necessary technical, financial, and project-specific information for grant applications.
- Ensure that grant applications are complete, compliant, and submitted by the required deadlines.
- Work with legal, financial, and compliance teams to ensure that proposals meet all necessary regulatory, legal, and reporting requirements.
Grant Management & Oversight:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of grants, from application through to completion, ensuring timely and accurate submission of progress reports, final reports, and financial documents.
- Track the use of grant funds, ensuring that funds are spent in accordance with the awarded budgets and guidelines.
- Monitor compliance with grant terms and conditions, including regular reporting to funding agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with grant agencies, maintaining relationships and ensuring smooth communication throughout the grant process.
Grant Tracking & Reporting:
- Develop and implement a system to track all grants, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with all funding requirements.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of grants, including tracking milestones, expenditures, and deliverables.
- Prepare financial and narrative reports for funders and internal stakeholders, demonstrating the progress and impact of funded projects.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Coordinate with internal teams, including finance, legal, project management, and airport operations, to ensure that grant funds are used effectively and that all project milestones are met.
- Collaborate with external partners, including government agencies, funding bodies, and contractors, to ensure alignment of project goals with funding requirements.
- Assist in building relationships with government agencies, foundations, and private funding organizations to expand the airport’s access to grants.
Strategic Planning & Process Improvement:
- Contribute to the development of strategic funding plans for airport projects, identifying long-term funding strategies to support capital improvement programs.
- Continuously evaluate and refine the grant application and management process to increase efficiency and effectiveness in securing funds for the airport.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING!
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finding, writing, and managing grants for infrastructure or capital improvement projects, preferably in an airport or aviation setting.
- Proven success in securing federal, state, and local grants for large-scale infrastructure or capital improvement projects.
- Exemplary communication skills—both written and verbal—demonstrating the ability to write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple grant applications and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and the ability to track and manage detailed financial and reporting documentation.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including project managers, senior leadership, and external partners.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to assess funding opportunities and match them with the airport’s project goals.
- Proficiency in grant management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and experience with budget tracking and financial reporting.
- Experience with federal and state grant programs specific to airports (e.g., FAA, TSA, Department of Transportation) and familiarity with related regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of financial management principles related to grant funding, including budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex grant requirements and ensure compliance throughout the life cycle of the grant.
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Public Administration, Business Administration), preferred.
- Certification in grant writing (e.g., Grant Professional Certified, GPC) or related training, preferred.
- Experience working with airport capital improvement programs or large-scale infrastructure projects, preferred.
