Apex Systems is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician for a direct hire opportunity with an academic medical center on the forefront of health care in Virginia.
SUMMARY
The Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for managing the coordination and provision of comprehensive medical equipment including technical support, training, procedural assistance, vendor interface, preventive maintenance and repair on complex medical equipment. The Biomedical Equipment Technician demonstrates proficiency in engineering disciplines including electronics pneumatics mechanical systems TCP/IP networking human anatomy and physiology and also provides oversight and administers daily operations and priorities for technical staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform as first-line full-service expert in focus clinical and administrative areas including but not limited to radiology/imaging laboratory or respiratory therapy.
- Demonstrates proficiency of preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.
- Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining Client medical equipment inventory system.
- Coordinate and/or perform installation and initial inspections on medical equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all safety rules codes practices and policies.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Associate’s Degree or CBET, Microsoft, Medical Device Manufacturer Certification, etc.
- Experience: 5-7 years relevant experience.
- License: Valid Virginia Driver’s License required.
