What You Will Be Doing:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead preconstruction activities on large-scale projects, ranging from $5M to $100M in revenue. The ideal candidate will have both the technical expertise and the leadership skills necessary to support our client base effectively.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Lead the design of ductwork, piping, and plumbing systems, including performing cooling and heating load calculations.
- Manage and oversee estimating activities for multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare detailed material matrices and ensure all specifications align with project requirements and company standards.
- Solicit, vet, and select proposals from subcontractors, vendors, and other trades.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals, including scope, pricing, clarifications, and exclusions.
- Complete bid forms and prepare necessary documentation for submission.
- Lead management review meetings prior to bid submission and oversee post-bid, pre-award activities.
- Facilitate handover meetings to the operations team and participate in cost-to-complete assessments for assigned projects.
- Support and lead Design Assist, Design Build, and Value Engineering efforts.
- Prepare and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and actively participate in project interviews.
Other Essential Functions:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or Construction Science preferred. A Technical College Degree is required.
- Minimum of 5 years as a Design Engineer. Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred, Engineer-In-Training (EIT) required, with qualifications to obtain a P.E. license within 12 months.
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access); AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace.
