Job Description: Senior Electrical Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Licensure: PE, Professional Engineer license required.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of buildings.
- Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
- Skills: Ability to perform power system studies including short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, and arc flash studies.
- Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members.
- Specialization: Life Science and/or advanced manufacturing facility electrical design experience.
- Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
Responsibilities:
- Design: Design medium and low voltage power distribution systems, emergency generation, lighting, and hazard classified areas at life science facilities including labs, controlled environment storage, and pilot plant production buildings. Candidates with similar experience from other industries such as hospitals, industrial settings, manufacturing, and public utility companies will be considered.
- Engineering and Design: Engineering and design of facility power distribution systems, grounding, lighting, equipment & construction specifications, and hazardous area classifications in complex industrial facilities.
- Calculations and Evaluations: Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications.
- Project Oversight: Direct activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with project team members and customers.
- Software Utilization: Use engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Quality Assurance: Perform tier reviews of project deliverables to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria, and good engineering practices.
