Position Summary:
As the General Manager for Mechanical Operations, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our projects and ensuring the success of our operations. This dynamic position involves comprehensive oversight of construction initiatives, guaranteeing that each project is executed with precision—on time, within budget, and in strict adherence to company policies and procedures. You will have full P&L responsibility for the region, leading a talented team of Business Unit and Operations Group Managers to drive operational excellence and foster a collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Development: Build a strong sales presence in the Arizona market by nurturing lasting relationships with clients and partners. Utilize your industry expertise to identify new business opportunities and position the company as a trusted partner in mechanical contracting.
- Operational Management: Lead day-to-day operations with a focus on innovation and efficiency. Motivate your team to ensure project execution aligns with company objectives, delivering exceptional value to clients.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact, developing robust, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors. Your ability to communicate effectively will foster trust and collaboration throughout all project phases.
- Project Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring meticulous management of every detail. Lead pre-construction meetings to set the stage for successful project outcomes, coordinating resources and aligning team efforts to achieve project goals.
- Financial Oversight: Manage the bidding process and contract agreements strategically, ensuring project profitability and financial soundness. Oversee timely billing and collections to maintain financial health and accountability.
- Training and Leadership: Inspire and develop your team through training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Create an environment that encourages feedback and continuous improvement, empowering employees to contribute to operational excellence.
- Safety Compliance: Champion a culture of safety. Uphold and enforce all safety protocols, ensuring your team is compliant and actively engaged in fostering a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years in construction management, with a proven track record in mechanical contracting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and negotiate critical issues at all levels.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and project management principles.
