Staff Research Engineer - RL / Robotics
We are currently partnered with a recognized startup at the forefront of innovation in Robotics and Autonomous systems. The business are redefining the way in which the world interacts with Robotic systems, and are led by world-renowned leaders from some of the most prominent AI & Tech businesses of the last decade.
They are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team and lead our efforts at the intersection of Reinforcement Learning and Robotics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RL and Robotics and will hold a PhD in Robotics, RL, Vision, or a related field and possess substantial commercial experience with a leading company in Autonomous Systems and Intelligence. This role will involve spearheading advanced projects, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies, and mentoring a team of talented engineers.
You will be responsible for leading and driving innovative R&D projects in RL, Foundation Modeling and Robotics and will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced algorithms for autonomous systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI and machine learning solutions into robotic systems and will conduct experiments, analyze data, and iterate on designs to improve system capabilities.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Robotics, Machine Learning, RL, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years' commercial experience with a world-leader in Autonomous Systems and Intelligence
- Deep knowledge of RL / Robot Learning and applications to real-world Robotics
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, and MATLAB.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
