Job Summary:
As a Construction Superintendent, you will play a critical role in managing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects, working closely with our team, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representatives. This position requires extensive experience in Design/Build projects, preferably with Naval Facilities Engineering or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You will be responsible for overseeing the job site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining project schedules, and fostering effective communication among all stakeholders. The ability to travel regularly is essential as projects will be located throughout the U.S., while the home office is based in Charleston, SC.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams, including company teammates, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representatives, to ensure effective project coordination and execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project phases and milestones.
- Monitor and control project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential issues, maintain quality standards, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services to support project schedules.
- Foster a culture of safety by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols, conducting safety meetings, and promoting a safe working environment.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns or issues promptly, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely project reports, including progress reports, safety reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and permit requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, specifically in Design/Build projects, preferably with Naval Facilities Engineering or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices, with a focus on federal construction projects.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with all project stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites throughout the U.S. on a regular basis.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
