Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, with multiple locations to serve the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States they are looking for 2 Superintendents to run jobs in the Richmond area. The Superintendent manages all functions of the jobsite as it relates to construction while providing excellent customer service. This hands-on problem solver is responsible for overall onsite management of the project from inception to final acceptance, including all onsite planning, organization, and control of the work in the field. The Superintendent provides supervision and coordination of subcontractors and other partners while ensuring safe conditions on construction job sites. This candidate must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic, possess a positive can-do attitude, and be willing to get hands dirty and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Superintendents will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the design team to form an effective leadership team!
Responsibilities:
· Manages and schedules all field resources including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
· Ensures the proper performance of all subcontractors in both quality and timeliness of their work.
· Coordinate and implementation of the final project budget with the Project Manager.
· Identify and resolve all on-site project-specific issues in conjunction with the Project Manager and escalate the necessary issues up to the appropriate person.
· Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
· Review, understand, and comply with contract requirements relating to issues such as inspection procedures, claims notification, shutdown notifications, etc.
· Effectively schedule and coordinate on-site work operations.
· Create and maintain 3 Week Look Ahead schedule to assure job progress is maintained.
· Assist the Project Manager with the preparation of the project construction schedule in conjunction with input from the required Subcontractors.
· Supervise foreman and/or craft activities determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, etc.
· Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work scheduling, etc.) as required.
· Manage the on-site safety program. Understand and implement all safety requirements, regulations, and laws that pertain to the project.
· Review approved submittals and cross-reference between trades to ensure the work conforms to contract requirements.
· Review, understand, and enforce all project specific subcontract agreements and supplier purchase orders.
· Perform all project start-up and close-out activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in ground-up new construction and/or rehabilitation construction with strong civil and mechanical insight knowledge
- Water/Wastewater treatment experience is a bonues!
- Previous experience leading a job-site team.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
