About the Job
As a Thermal Engineering Technician at Hyve Solutions, you will support engineering activities such as design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems. Your primary responsibilities will include performing thermal measurements and qualifications on rack mount computing products, working closely with the engineering team to provide accurate data for analysis. This role involves using thermal sensors, data acquisition units, environmental chambers, and configuring test software in a Linux environment. You will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, or defined plans to perform testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology and engineering, with a hands-on approach to testing and problem-solving.
You Will:
- Perform temperature measurements by attaching thermocouples to electronic devices.
- Operate data acquisition equipment such as Keysight loggers.
- Run tests on products and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Analyze system or product performance, providing feedback to engineering teams.
- Use hand tools to assemble and disassemble prototypes.
- Start and stop test tools in Linux or Windows environments.
- Collect and provide test logs to engineering team members.
- Program and operate environmental chambers for testing.
- Observe and report unexpected results or potential issues.
- Inspect and troubleshoot product design, offering insights to engineering teams.
- Assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions and provide support in the design, construction, and testing of test equipment.
- Use manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
You Have:
- High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Engineering Technology or skilled trade certification strongly desired.
- Experience with thermocouples and thermal measurements.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience building personal computers.
- Experience with environmental chambers and programming them for testing.
- Familiarity with test instruments such as data loggers, volt meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
You Are:
- Fluent in Linux command line operation.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy.
- A clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Self-driven, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrating intellectual curiosity and a passion for technology.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledgeable in proper lab safety procedures.
Hourly Pay Range
$21.25—$37.00 USD DOE
