Job Title: Construction Safety Coordinator
Duration: Up to 3 Years (Full-time)

Job Overview:
The Construction Safety Coordinator will primarily be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment at a Power Plant's construction sites. The role involves actively working in the field, observing contractors, identifying and correcting safety hazards, and supporting the implementation of safety procedures. This individual will be part of a team and work closely with another safety professional who will handle the majority of the paperwork and reporting tasks. The primary focus of the role is field oversight, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor and oversee the safety practices of contractors performing construction work on-site.
- Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Identify unsafe work conditions or practices, intervene to correct hazards, and escalate as needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, including emergency evacuation, fire, medical, and rescue protocols.
- Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for contractors and personnel as required.
- Support incident response efforts, including providing first aid or assisting with case management for work-related injuries.
- Collaborate with the on-site safety lead to ensure all safety procedures and documentation are up to date.
- Work closely with external agencies (e.g., medical, fire, and rescue services) to coordinate emergency response plans.
- Maintain a strong presence in the field, serving as a resource and point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Must have OSHA 30 certification.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in industrial or power plant settings.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Ability to identify hazards in the field and take proactive measures to correct unsafe conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise feedback to contractors and workers.
- Experience working with external agencies to develop and implement emergency response plans.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on fieldwork rather than office tasks.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience at a power plant or industrial site, particularly in roles involving construction safety oversight.
- Experience in coordinating with medical professionals and managing work-related injury cases.
