Our esteemed client in Middlesex County, New Jersey is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager with a strong background in the stainless steel industry to oversee and enhance the efficiency of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience, proven leadership skills, and a deep understanding of stainless steel production operations. This role is critical in ensuring that our manufacturing processes meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards while optimizing productivity and resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations to ensure smooth production processes, maximize productivity, and reduce downtime.
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a high-performance and safety-conscious work environment.
- Identify, analyze, and implement improvements in production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with Quality Control teams to monitor and uphold high product quality standards in compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications.
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, to optimize production capacity.
- Ensure all operations are conducted in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Develop and manage budgets for the operations department, monitoring expenses, and making cost-effective decisions to maintain profitability.
- Work closely with other departments such as Quality Control, Sales, and Engineering to align operational goals with business objectives.
- Generate regular reports on production metrics, efficiency, and performance, and present insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in an operations management role within the stainless steel or a closely related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven expertise in stainless steel manufacturing processes and production planning.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a focus on driving efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems) and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing environment.
