Position: Director Financial Reporting (Hybrid)
Location: Orlando FL
Role Overview
The Director of Financial Reporting will direct and oversee the preparation and distribution of financial reports for external use. Ensures that all financial reports comply with governmental regulations and the Company’s policies and procedures. Performs technical accounting assessments for large and complex transactions to ensure appropriate GAAP treatment and recording.
Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates, in conjunction with the Legal Department, the timely and accurate completion and issuance of external financial statements, including preparation and filing of the Company’s 10-Q and 10K filings with the SEC.
- Ensures that all financial information is fairly stated in accordance with regulatory requirements, including related GAAP disclosure requirements.
- Assists in preparation of management reports and presentations for audit committee and participates in audit and disclosure committee meetings.
- Prepare and file required 8-K filings with the SEC.
- Ensure XBRL compliance of all SEC filings.
- Ensures the timely identification of significant and complex accounting issues and directs the resolution and documentation of such issues through review of contracts and other monthly and quarterly financial/transaction monitoring activities.
- Evaluates risks, benefits, and technical implications of alternatives.
- Coordinates with external auditors, Legal Department, and other departments on accounting issues.
- Reviews, develops, and maintains the organization's accounting policies for topics related to financial reporting and technical accounting.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with evolving accounting guidance, and develops reports on the impact and compliance with future accounting requirements.
- Communicates and explains accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the Senior Accounting Team and Senior Management.
- Reviews, develops, implements, and maintains processes, systems, policies, and procedures associated with financial reporting.
- Ensures that process documentation and key controls are updated and complete.
- Oversees testing efforts and advises on the impact and resolution of internal control deficiencies.
- Develops continuous improvements to the compliance process to maximize efficiencies and minimize costs.
- Updates the annual financial reporting risk assessment.
- Tracks and monitors the compliance process, including status, scope, cost, and benefits.
- Oversees accounting process, recording, and reconciliation for stock-based compensation.
- Perform required earnings-per-share calculations for each quarterly and annual period.
- Maintain and monitor the Company’s common stock, warrant, and unit ledgers including.
- Prepare carve-out financial statements and oversee related audits for debt covenant compliance.
- Analyze new debt and equity issuances for accounting implications as needed.
- Establishes goals and objectives and provides direction for the financial reporting team.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field
- Active CPA license
- 10 years experience in SEC reporting and technical accounting roles in a publicly-traded company
- Experience with large ERP systems
- Experience with filing services/software

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 15 years experience, including 5 years leading the external reporting function of a public company with large, accelerated filer status
- Experience with manufacturing companies
- Experience with the following technical areas: revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory (ASC 330), stock-based compensation (ASC 715), debt issuances (ASC 470), leases (ASC 842), instruments with characteristics of liability and equity (ASC 480/ASC 815), earnings-per-share calculation (ASC 260), credit loss reserves (ASC 326), foreign currency matters (ASC 830).
- Experience with NetSuite ERP.
- Experience with DFin filing software.
- Experience with international operations and IFRS
