OVERVIEW:
Leads organizational Export Compliance as a thought leader and consultant by to ensure adherence to all applicable US Govt. regulations for the sale/shipment of ITAR/EAR-regulated items.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead export compliance functions, including ITAR/EAR & other applicable US Govt. regulations.
- Ensure accuracy of Company Export Compliance Manual while ensuring timely & accurate filings of required documentation to include export licenses, Department of Commerce licensing requirements, and so on.
- Maintain documentation for foreign trade shows and demonstrations (including play a key role in company export license filings).
- Provide assistance to technical/sales reps with aid preparations.
- Apply understanding of current US Department of State, US Customs and Border Patrol and US Department of Commerce laws & regulations pertaining to imports and exports.
- Consult with the shipping department as needed to ensure the receipt and shipment of imports/exports (including coordinating with departments to confirm accuracy of required documentation for shipments (ex: commercial invoices, carnets, packing lists, and shippers export declarations).
- Support organizational goals by application of shipping knowledge items (Incoterms) and help coordinate with both country representative and carrier(s) to ensure all required documents are submitted correctly.
- Assist in the sales of product to foreign end users by ensuring accuracy of records (contacts, proactive communication with assigned customers, maintain all files and communication documents as required, etc.).
- Audit Customs entries to ensure accuracy of HTS classification, declaration of value, tariff treatment, and communicate adjustment to Customs broker.
- Ensures accuracy of associated licenses, customs broker invoices, and so on.
QUAIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma required with direct experience leading the import and export of ITAR-controlled items (Bachelor's or Master's Degree Preferred).
- Excellent communication, time management, administrative, and attention-to-detail are required.
- The ability to thrive within a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines.
- Firearms industry and/or product knowledge & familiarity highly preferred.
