Summary
Provides automotive customer in Springfield, TN with on-going plant support including production support, optimizations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair activities as needed for on-site and/or phone support of all their robotic needs. Identifies on-the-job training opportunities and coaching/mentoring to Customer Service team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following.
- Provides ongoing on-site plant support for facilities being commissioned for production and/or production plant support.
- Provides high level plant support knowledge including, but not limited to, software, PLCs, KUKA options and support process improvements/optimizations. Enhances production-related plant processes via KUKA products. Becomes experienced in customer specific applications and tech packages. (i.e. customer standards)
- Leads by Example. Aids in bringing new KUKA Robotics service team members up to speed about plant support and related requirements.
- Supports customers and internal personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and programming problems related to KUKA Robotics equipment.
- Completes all paperwork (i.e. timesheets, expense reports, project proposals, etc.) completely, neatly, legibly, and in a timely manner.
- Maintains and improves skills and product/application knowledge in conjunction with the Service Manager and/or related supervisor(s).Identifies training needs and keeps abreast of competition benchmarks and technology changes.
- Creates a complete backup of all software, programming, and/or configuration changes that are made before and during production. Provides one copy to the customer and keeps one copy for KUKA Robotics service files.
- Provides on the job training, coaching, and mentoring of Customer Service team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May provide project manager support for specific assignments, including leading small teams to perform in-house and on-site projects (i.e. Preventive Maintenance, Retrofits of equipment, etc.). Coordinates with Spare Parts department to ensure materials are delivered to the site accurately and timely.
Provides daily, weekly, and/or month status reports to management as needed. Coordinates activities with customers/plant management as needed to resolve scheduling and personnel issues.

- Ability to lead small groups. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, electronic, etc. prints and other related technical documentation. Strong Software background, capable of diagnosing software issues. Knowledge of the fundamentals of customer service for phone and face-to-face contact with customers. PC knowledge, which should include hardware and software (i.e. MS Office, ERP system, Internet, Email, etc.)
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.E.E./B.S.C/B.S.M.E.) from an accredited four-year college or university plus five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Solve personnel problems related to customer sites/activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is located at the customer site in a typical manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to temperature variances from open doors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The incumbent is expected to be cognizant of and follow all customer-specific safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment and hearing protection.
