Position Summary:
The Director of Operations and Strategy will be responsible for overseeing construction operations, ensuring project efficiency, and contributing to the company’s strategic direction. This individual will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop business strategies, perform margin analysis, and support budget planning. The role requires frequent travel to job sites across the West Coast to ensure seamless operations and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all field operations in partnership with regional managers, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and according to the highest safety and quality standards. Optimize workflows and resolve operational challenges.
- Strategy Development: Partner with the Chief Strategy and Information Officer to formulate, implement, and monitor long-term strategic plans aligned with company growth and profitability goals.
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Lead budget planning, forecasting, and margin analysis efforts, with a focus on improving profitability and cost efficiency.
- Field Operations: Conduct regular site visits across the West Coast to assess project progress, address field-level challenges, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance, efficiency, and safety across construction sites.
- Board Reporting: Prepare and present reports on operational performance, budgetary status, and strategic initiatives to the executive team and the Board of Directors.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior operations role in the construction industry.
- Strong background in field operations with hands-on experience managing construction sites, warehouses, and fleet.
- Expertise in strategic planning, margin analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
- Ability to travel frequently to various sites across the West Coast (approximately 25-50% of the time).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
